As the community outreach specialist for Ezell’s Famous Chicken, Hazel was responsible for directing the company’s community donations and support efforts—a role in which she quickly proved to be exceptionally gifted. Throughout her tenure, she focused keenly on children, with a deep and compassionate awareness of how economic difficulties affected them. She worked hard to support elementary, middle and high schools with food and monetary donations—and stepped these efforts up during the pandemic. She also prioritized support for after-school programs and donations to families with children undergoing medical treatments.
