This 206 mile bicycle ride from Seattle to Portland (STP) is the largest multi-day bicycle event in the northwest, and one of the ten biggest in the nation, with as many as 10,000 participants riding from Seattle to Portland in one or two days. The event draws athletes from all over the northwest as well as around the globe. The ride has been in operation since 1979, when the Cascade Bicycle Club first started the event.
Doing Good All Over The State
All profits from the event help to raise money for both of these organizations, and as a result, makes Washington a better place for people riding bikes. Seattle to Portland provides a major boost to each of these organizations, but also to the people in the towns that we pass through on our way to Portland. Many of the communities on the way are very small, and this influx of 10,000 riders really helps to stimulate their local economies.
Ezell’s Co-Founder Lewis Rudd is an avid bicyclist, and as a result has been an active participant in many of the Seattle to Portland rides. Being involved in the event for so long, Lewis knows all that goes into the production of the event, as well as the energy expended by the bikers themselves. This is why Ezell’s is always elated to help by being support staff for the Seattle to Portland ride. We provide our delicious chicken and sides to all riders and volunteers at various stops throughout the trip.
