The Rudd’s R. U. B. B. Initiative (RRI) is an exciting, precedent-setting new initiative to financially empower Black-Owned businesses, a collaboration between the iconic Ezell’s Famous Chicken and Door Dash, a Charter Partner in the Initiative. This conference will be held on pier 70 in downtown Seattle, with host Miller Nash.

Rudd’s R.U.B.B. Initiative offers financial grants to local greater Puget Sound area Black-owned businesses and Black business serving organizations to directly fund their growth, operations, and success. Invitations are also extended to other select companies who will have the opportunity to contribute to the RRI as a recognized Community Partner in Prosperity. The Inaugural Black Business Leadership Conference allows R.U.B.B. to reach more businesses by connecting them with sustainable education, tangible resources, and sustainable networks.

August is #NationalBlackBusinessMonth, created in 2004 by historian John William Templeton and engineer Frederick E. Jordan Sr. to bring attention to the needs of more than two million Black-owned businesses operating across America. Rudd’s R.U.B.B. Initiative’s impact on Black businesses in Washington state has been significant to date, helping twenty Black business owners in 2021 either see their dream of business ownership come to fruition or helped them continue operation during and after the height of the pandemic through grant awards. The conference will offer networking opportunities, educational content, connection sessions, and beautiful views of the bay from their rooftop!
